Preparing for Our Writer’s Panel on Mediating Issues

Greetings,

Mediated argument featured in Whole Living Magazine last April.

Mediated argument featured in Whole Living Magazine last April.

As we look forward to Tuesday’s class, I advise you to take the following steps:
1. Read Chapter 11 in AA (as well as Tuesday’s assigned reading, which is a simple graphic organizer of a debate).
2. Peruse the assignment sheet for the Mediated Writing Assignment, available here.
3. If you haven’t signed up for a conference already or want to check the time slot you selected, they are posted to the website. Click here for a direct link.
4. Barring any unforeseen no-shows, we should have some experienced mediated writers for our panel on Tuesday, in our regularly-scheduled room, Ross 0025. In an effort to make them feel comfortable and get the most out of this session, please create the following blog post: “If I could ask a writer at The Daily anything, I’d ask: ________________________________________.” Fill in the blank with at least one question, more if you can. Hopefully, you can pose these questions directly to them. I hope an alternative opinion on writing will prove beneficial to you all.
Until then, I’d recommend beginning your search for evidence. We’ll discuss what constitutes “good” evidence in more detail on Thursday, but it’s important to start this process sooner rather than later. That way, you’re prepared to ask smart questions and get the most out of our research session.
Until I see you again, have a very nice weekend.
Best,
Ms. H
